The SAFe POPM certification provides:

To become a certified SAFe POPM:
- Attend 2-day training by an authorized Scaled Agile partner and SPC.
- Get exam login credentials from Scaled Agile upon training completion.
- Take the 90-minute, 45-question online closed-book exam.
- Score at least 80% to pass the exam.
- Receive the certified POPM certificate and badge within 5-7 days of passing the exam
No, you must take the SAFe POPM course to get certified. Scaled Agile requires in-person training by an SPC for true learning and hands-on experience. The exam is not a substitute for formal SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager training.
Scaled Agile, Inc. provides the SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager certification. They introduced the Scaled Agile Framework in 2011 as an enterprise agility knowledgebase. The POPM certification is awarded to those who pass the SAFe 6Â Product Owner/Product Manager exam.
There are no prerequisites for the POPM course. Prior SAFe experience and Lean/Agile certifications are beneficial but optional.

To be eligible for the POPM exam, you must complete 2 days of training from an authorized Scaled Agile partner. Relevant work experience and certifications would be helpful.
The POPM exam has a moderately difficult closed-book format. With the proper 2-day course preparation and certification coaching activities, passing on the first try is achievable.
After passing the exam, you will become a certified SAFe Agilist (SA) showing proficiency in the Scaled Agile Framework.
After finishing the 2-day course, Scaled Agile sends a welcome email with the exam link to access the test page.
